That said, the prose could be tightened and edited down in certain places – there are a handful of obvious editing errors, and some passages are overly wordy or informal. Those critiques aside, Moone puts the shifting challenges of fatherhood on fearless display, from delivery room anxieties and tough parental sacrifice to the looming fear of a daughter’s wedding day, resulting in an emotive and affecting read for both fathers and daughters.
