Tell us about your book.
Intrinsic is a novel for anyone who has the desire to follow, persevere, and achieve their agenda or goal no matter how tiresome or dire that pursuit maybe. The main character is Jatara who exemplifies this moxie and determination.
Why did you choose to self-publish?
I made this creative, yet author-liberating choice to have more freedom and flexibility in my writing, without the restriction of a large publishing house.
Why did you want to write a book?
I’ve been writing for many years, and received an extensive college education in English and naturally possessed creative writing skills.
What did you learn on your journey as an author?
The greatest lesson I learned was to always be open to revise and rehash your work, in order to be receptive to new ways of expressing your ideas and literature.
Would you self-publish again?
Definitely.
What do you think are the main pitfalls for indie writers?
There are none.
As a writer, what is your schedule? How do you get the job done?
I don’t have a set schedule, I write all the time, and any chance I can get.
What tips can you give other authors looking to self-publish?
My recommendation would to write from the heart and stay focused on your mission to create something fresh and new.
What was your steepest learning curve during the publishing process?
The whole intricacies of the editing process.
Tell us about the genre you wrote in, and why you chose to write this sort of book.
Fantasy is my genre, it best describes my mental state of creative expression.
Who are your biggest writing inspirations and why?
JK Rowling and Mark Twain- these two authors tell stories you can visualize.
What are your plans now your book is published?
To start on the sequel: Intrinsic- Kragon’s Revenge.
How do you deal with writer’s block?
I step away for a short respite and walk my dog, then I’m motivated all over again.
What have you learned from this experience?
To never stop what you start, and finish what you begin.
How do your friends and family get involved with your writing? What do they think of your book?
My friends and family are my greatest fans, they are ecstatic for the opportunity to read my book. I am very grateful for their support.
Why did you write about this particular subject?
I’m interested in seeing people overcoming difficulties, and becoming victorious.
