Why did you want to write a book?
After losing my wife Christine to breast cancer, I’m honoring her memory by donating all profits from my book to help cancer patients obtain wigs. Losing hair during cancer treatment can be a traumatic experience, and having access to wigs can help ease the emotional burden. Unfortunately, many individuals cannot afford this crucial part of the healing process. My donation aims to fill this gap and provide much-needed support to those struggling to feel normal during a difficult time.
What do you think are the main pitfalls for indie writers?
Having too many options for promotion and not having a clear focus or direction. Not knowing what is useful and what is a waste of time and money.
What tips can you give other authors looking to self-publish?
Self-Publishing Review is quite helpful.
What was your steepest learning curve during the publishing process?
It is best to have someone format your e-book as it is more difficult than it appears.
Tell us about the genre you wrote in, and why you chose to write this sort of book.
I have always been interested in the complex issue of love and helping others to understand the most effective ways to have a deep, passionate loving relationship.
Who are your biggest writing inspirations and why?
I researched love for my dissertation and was able to conduct ground-breaking research with real long-term loving couples.
What are your plans now your book is published?
To continue writing books to help people experience deep love. I have 2 more books in pre-publication. Heart to Heart: A workbook for singles looking for love and Unbreakable Bonds: The art of eternal love and lasting commitment.
What did you learn on your journey as an author?
I have learned a lot about mature love and how it differs from attraction. This understanding has allowed me to answer many basic questions such as “Is there love at first sight?” Once you define love clearly, then the answer is self-evident.
What’s next for you as an author?
To continue researching relationships in order to make this subject clear for others on the same path. I have 2 more books in the works (mentioned above).
