Torri L. FisherTorri Fisher’s career spans many different aspects of Information Technology; everything from coding and analysis to Project and Product Management for such companies as Nationwide Insurance and the American Medical Association.

She also enjoys many other activities outside of Corporate America, unabashedly diving into pursuits that excite her including running an online Travel Blog and eCommerce website, honing her acting craft, growing her Real Estate portfolio, and more recently, developing a digital innovation to support our Senior community.

The one thing she has learned across the many industries of her career and life experiences is the value of relationships and clear communication.

Why did you write about this particular subject?

Following my mother’s diagnosis in 2018, I wrote this book to share my experience to encourage and strengthen others who may need the same support. I had so many “crud, I didn’t know that,” moments and acquired so much information, it just made sense to compile the information into a consumable format with the hope other familial caregivers have a tangible starting point from which to begin their journey. Additionally, given some of my personal challenges, I wanted a way to emphasize the importance of “putting your own oxygen mask on first, before assisting others with their mask,” lovingly referred to as “self care.”

What tools or companies did you use, and what experience did you have?

I would be remiss without mentioning the wonderful, patient, and professional services I used including: AIA (Publishing Life), 100Covers, Dave the Kindlepreneur, the faculty of the DIM Master’s program at Temple University and so many others!

Would you self-publish again?

Absolutely! I have a TON of ideas to encourage folks to find their inner peace, restore emotional balance, and generally just indulge in food for the mind, body, and soul.Review: Forget Me Not by Torri L. Fisher

What did you learn on your journey as an author?

So much absolute respect for writers, cover designers, editors, formatters, and the like. While there were challenges, indeed, in this literary journey, the entirety was equal parts scary and amazing. Running on pure passion and adrenaline, I have closed the chapter of producing and launching my first book and look forward to the next!
