Keanu Reeves and Girlfriend: Indie-Publishing Since 2011

So for everyone under a rock for the past week, the top trending person on Twitter is beloved Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves. Because it has come to the world’s attention his girlfriend has gray hair, and she looks like Helen Mirren! (She’s over twenty-five years younger, but let the plebs have their say.) And drumroll, she’s only nine years younger than him! (see Jeff Goldblum, Dennis Quaid, Leonardo DiCaprio, or Sean Penn to see how, ahem, unusual this “small” age gap actually is in Hollywood.)

However, speculation about this “new” relationship pretty much dissolved when web-ferrets savvy and bored enough to investigate discovered that not only have they been openly dating at least for some time and turning up at various Hollywood events together for years, but that they probably met in 2009 at a party, and soon after collaborated on a book, “Shadows”.

And it’s an interesting project. Published by Steidl Verlag, a high-end boutique art and fashion press, Keanu Reeves adds haiku-like poetry to Alexandra Grant’s illustrations. I use the word “illustrations” lightly, as they are in their own right pieces of art. You can hear them read from it in this video in 2011, while marveling at their obvious chemistry.
